Established in 1967, the Cixian Mao Zedong Thought Memorial Hall is one of the earliest memorial sites in China dedicated to Mao Zedong Thought. Originally founded as a "Mao Zedong Thought Study Room," it underwent multiple renovations and expansions and was officially renamed the "Mao Zedong Thought Memorial Hall" in 2005. As a significant red cultural landmark in North China, the hall bears witness to the early dissemination of socialist ideological concepts in China and preserves profound historical memory.
📐 Architecture and Layout
The memorial hall features a typical architectural style from the 1960s and 1970s, with a three-story brick-and-concrete structure. The exterior predominantly uses gray-white coloring, accented by red brick bands that reflect the era’s characteristics. Covering an area of approximately 3,000 square meters, the site includes a main exhibition hall, specialized display zones, a document archive room, and an outdoor commemorative plaza. A half-length bronze statue of Chairman Mao stands prominently at the entrance, exuding solemnity; inscribed on both sides of the plaza are classic passages such as "Qinyuan Chun: Snow" and "On Contradiction," highlighting the depth of ideological content.
