📍 Address: Kaifei Line, Feidong County, Hefei City, Anhui Province (specific location: Zhaozhuang Village, Dianbu Town, Feidong County)
🕰️ Historical Background:
The Zhao Clan Ancestral Hall was originally constructed during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, boasting over 400 years of history. It has long served as a sacred site for ancestral worship and the preservation of family values within the local Zhao clan. The hall underwent restoration in the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty, retaining its Ming-era architectural style and Qing craftsmanship. It stands as one of the few well-preserved clan ancestral halls in central Anhui.
🏛️ Architectural Features:
Oriented facing south with the north as its back, the hall is built against a hillside, featuring a meticulously planned layout based on a "three-aisle courtyard" structure comprising an entrance pavilion, front hall, central hall, rear temple, and side wings. The main buildings are constructed using brick and timber, with roofs covered in blue tiles, upturned eaves, and intricately carved beams and rafters. The stone carvings on the entrance pavilion are exquisite, inscribed with the phrase "Loyalty and Filial Piety Passed Down Through Generations." The beams and rafters in the central hall feature well-preserved Qing Dynasty murals depicting stories from the "Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars" and auspicious motifs, showcasing exceptional artistic value.
